    Course Structure

    The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching is delivered part-time over two years.

    Delivery Format

    • One half-day per week
    • Day and time to be confirmed
    • Delivered at Orchard Therapeutic Farm, Chalgrove, Oxfordshire
    • Combination of taught sessions, independent study and teaching practice
    • Ongoing tutor support throughout the programme

    The programme combines theoretical learning with practical teaching experience, helping learners develop confidence in planning, delivering and evaluating teaching across post-16 educational settings.

    Learners will complete coursework, professional reflections, teaching observations and practical teaching hours throughout the course.

    Teaching Practice

    As part of the qualification, learners are required to complete teaching practice hours within an appropriate educational setting.

    Teaching practice allows learners to apply their knowledge within real teaching environments while developing confidence, communication skills and professional teaching experience.

    Support and guidance are provided throughout the process.

    Modules

    The Pearson BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Teaching combines practical teaching experience with professional and theoretical study.

    Developing Teaching, Learning and Assessment in Education and Training

    Building practical teaching skills through delivery, reflection, observation and ongoing professional development.

    Theories, Principles and Models in Education and Training

    Exploring educational theory and how different teaching approaches support learner development and engagement.

    Wider Professional Practice and Development in Education and Training

    Developing professional understanding, reflective practice and awareness of wider responsibilities within educational settings.

    Optional units and specialist areas may also form part of the programme depending on learner pathways and delivery focus.
