For young people ready to take the next step into further education, training, or employment, Orchard Therapeutic Farm offers alternative education that’s practical, purposeful, and personalised. Our post-16 provision is a safe place to grow, belong, and prepare for the future, with a balance of qualifications, therapeutic support, and real-world experience.

Learners can work towards recognised qualifications over two years, with BTEC, OCN and City & Guilds Level 1 and 2 pathways available. Programmes include Functional Skills in Maths and English, life skills, employability skills, and hands-on vocational learning in areas such as animal care, art, hospitality and catering, horticulture, trades and engineering, sport, and art.

Work experience is embedded throughout, giving learners the chance to apply their skills in our shop, café, creamery, orchard, animal areas, and through community partnerships. This approach ensures skills are not only taught but practised — building confidence, independence, and clear routes into further education, apprenticeships, or employment.
