Orchard Therapeutic Training provides specialist professional development, teacher training and consultancy for schools, Alternative Provisions and individuals wanting to build or progress meaningful careers within education.
Rooted in therapeutic practice and real-world SEND experience, our training has been developed in response to the growing need for emotionally-aware, relational and adaptive approaches across education. As more settings support learners experiencing SEND, SEMH, EBSA, anxiety and barriers to engagement, educators require practical strategies, deeper understanding and greater confidence in inclusive practice.
At the heart of our offer is the Pearson BTEC Level 5 Diploma in Teaching, a nationally recognised post-16 teaching qualification designed for those wanting to work within Further Education, Alternative Provision, SEND settings and wider educational environments. Delivered from our unique farm and orchard setting in Chalgrove (just outside of Oxford), the course combines recognised teaching standards with therapeutic understanding, relational practice and practical experience.
Alongside the Level 5 Diploma, Orchard Therapeutic Training also delivers Inclusion Training for Schools, supporting educational settings to strengthen inclusive culture, relational practice and emotionally-informed approaches to behaviour, wellbeing and engagement. Our training is practical, supportive and grounded in the realities schools face every day.
We also offer specialist consultancy and professional support for schools and Alternative Provisions, helping organisations reflect on inclusive practice, therapeutic approaches, learner engagement and SEND provision through a collaborative and solution-focused approach.
Unlike traditional training providers, SEND and therapeutic understanding are not treated as isolated topics within our programmes.
