  • Governance

At Orchard Therapeutic Farm, we have a strong system of governance underpinned by a rigorous Quality Assurance cycle, which plays a central role in the way our provision operates.

Our Governance team brings together a range of voices and expertise, including local community partnership groups, internal quality assurance specialists who both support and challenge us constructively, as well as external educational improvement partners and independent professionals with a deep understanding and passion for alternative provision and the services we deliver.

The Director, who is also a School Improvement Partner, holds overall accountability for every aspect of our provision and services. They are supported by internal departments such as HR and Finance, and by dedicated, safely recruited staff members who oversee compliance across a range of areas.

These governance arrangements cover (but are not limited to):

    • Carrying our vision for Orchard Therapeutic Farm across the whole centre

    • Safeguarding

    • Teaching and learning

    • Financial forecasting, capital expenditure, and budget setting

    • Environment and resources, including health and safety

    • Managing and resolving complaints

    • Approving policies and procedures

This approach ensures that Orchard Therapeutic Farm remains deeply connected to the local community, responsive to the needs of parents, commissioners, and stakeholders, and engaged with a wider network of professionals.

Through these connections, we learn continuously from others in the field, keeping our provision relevant, responsive, and connected to the world beyond our own gates.
