Orchard Therapeutic Farm offers a truly personalised and therapeutic alternative learning environment for children aged 6 to 11 who experience social, emotional, mental health needs or conditions such as ADHD, anxiety, or emotionally based school avoidance. Set on a working farm and rooted in nature, our nurturing and award-winning setting prioritises trusting relationships, steady personal progress and genuinely meaningful outcomes.
Our curriculum framework is tailored to each child’s needs, integrating therapeutic support, hands-on learning and mental-health-informed practice. Every part of the farm — from the orchard and animals to creative spaces like the creamery or kitchen — becomes part of the learning journey. We focus on delivering education that is practical, purposeful and personalised, reflecting our Orchard values: Engage, Explore, Empower.
This primary phase forms the foundation of our Orchard Model, ensuring that learners begin to explore with confidence, gradually build engagement, and move toward empowerment. This lays the groundwork for future pathways — be that through our Therapeutic Core Programme on-site, Outreach & Barns in community or small-group settings, or Orchard Active for physical wellbeing and outdoor learning.
Personalised Learning: Content and pace are tailored to each young learner’s strengths, needs, and interests.
Therapeutic & Trauma-Informed: We offer emotional well-being support alongside education, informed by our values-led approach.
Place-Based Curriculum: Learning isn’t confined to classrooms — it's woven through real-world tasks, nature, and purpose.
Seamless Progression: Primary learners are grounded in the Orchard three-step model — Explore, Engage, Empower — giving them a clear path forward.
