Social Enterprise

At Orchard Therapeutic Farm, social enterprise has grown naturally from the way we believe young people learn best.

We know that learning becomes far more meaningful when it is connected to real life. When young people can see the purpose behind what they are doing, contribute to something tangible and feel that their work matters, confidence often begins to grow.

Our social enterprise has been built around that belief.

What began as practical, farm-based opportunities to help learners develop confidence and everyday life skills has evolved into something much bigger: a growing enterprise model where young people can gain experience across hospitality, food production, growing, packaging, customer service, marketing and workplace responsibility.

At the centre of this is a simple idea: young people thrive when they are trusted, supported and given the chance to do something real.

Through our student-led café, our developing food and farm products, and the wider day-to-day enterprises across the site, learners are involved in meaningful work that helps prepare them for adult life.

Our social enterprise is still growing, and that is part of what makes it so exciting. As Orchard Therapeutic Farm develops, so too do the opportunities for learners to be part of something ambitious, creative and future-facing.
