Our farm fresh produce

Grown, gathered and made by students

At Orchard Therapeutic Farm, fresh produce tells a story. It is the story of young people learning through doing, discovering their abilities and taking pride in creating something real. Across the farm, students grow vegetables, collect eggs, work with ingredients from the orchard and help produce a range of delicious products including honey, apple cider vinegar with the mother, sweet chilli jam and apple cider rosemary jelly.

Every stage of the process becomes an opportunity to learn. Students gather ingredients, prepare produce, follow recipes, bottle products and label the finished jars. They see the journey from field to finished product and understand the value of the work they have contributed.

Learning through the land

Working with fresh food allows students to build confidence in practical ways. The rhythm of the farm encourages responsibility, teamwork and care. Simple daily tasks quickly grow into valuable life skills.

Eggs from our own hens
Collected daily by students as part of the farm’s routine. This work builds trust, responsibility and care for animals.

Honey from our hives
A natural product that connects students to the cycles of nature and the importance of patience and stewardship.

Apple cider vinegar with the mother
Made using fruit from the orchard. Students learn about traditional methods and the transformation of simple ingredients into something full of character.

Sweet chilli jam
A bold and vibrant product that introduces students to flavour, preparation and cooking techniques.

Apple cider rosemary jelly
A distinctive preserve that blends orchard fruit with fresh herbs from the farm.

Alongside these products, students help grow vegetables and support the rearing of our own meat. This gives them a deeper understanding of food production and the connection between land, care and nourishment.

These experiences give students more than practical knowledge. They build confidence, independence and a sense of achievement.

Students develop teamwork and communication skills. They learn how to follow processes and take responsibility for tasks. They gain insight into food production and small scale enterprise.

Most importantly, they experience the pride that comes from creating something worthwhile.

Collecting fresh eggs from Orchard Therapeutic Farm

Every jar, bottle and basket of produce carries the work of the young people behind it. Their care, their effort and their growing confidence are part of every product that leaves the farm.
