Orchard Therapeutic Farm is a transformative primary and secondary alternative provision nestled on a serene farm, dedicated to children aged 6 to 18. Specialising in social, emotional, and mental health difficulties, including associated  behaviour that is challenging, we cater to pupils with diverse needs such as ASD, ADHD, Anxiety, EBSA, Dyspraxia, Cognitive brain delay, and sensory overloads.

Our farm-based approach provides a therapeutic and emotionally empathetic context. With a team of experienced educational SEN staff, we employ interventions and trauma informed practices that empower young people to engage, develop, and maintain relationships, overcoming previous struggles. A major focus is on mental health issues, trauma and anxieties addressing manifestations such as  EBSA, self-isolation, and communicative behaviours indicators that may seem threatening in mainstream settings.

Situated in a calming environment with low demands, the farm encourages natural curiosity, self-regulation, and positive experiences within a small community, fostering strong bonds with both people and animals. Our purpose-built rooms, including an Art and Pottery Room, a fully equipped kitchen, and 1:1 facilitating spaces, offer visually inviting and calm settings for learning.

Blessed with vast land, we provide unique, engaging experiences, tailoring programs to ensure every young person learns in an alternative way. Our dedicated specialists work towards erasing past challenges, focusing on personal targets.

Activities vary and are planned  based on each student's EHCP outcomes, featuring therapeutic inputs, vocational targets, motivational and aspirational activities and quality first teaching.
