Work Experience & Social Enterprise

At Orchard Therapeutic Farm, learning is designed to feel real. Work experience sits at the heart of what we do, helping young people build practical skills, confidence and a clearer sense of their future.

Set on a working farm, our site is home to a range of real enterprises where learners gain hands-on experience as part of everyday learning.

Opportunities include:

  • working in our student led coffee shop and café
  • supporting administration in our busy office
  • helping with marketing projects
  • assisting with painting and decorating work
  • learning about health and safety
  • caring for animals
  • taking part in the day to day running of the orchard, creamery and kitchen.

Every Post 16 learner has the opportunity to take part in work experience as a core part of their programme. These experiences help prepare young people for the next stage of adulthood, whether that is employment, further training or greater independence, by developing the confidence, responsibility and real world skills that employers value.
